Everything you need to prepare a submission to JABE.
Journal of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Ecology (ISSN 2006-3938) publishes work on crop production, soil management, animal science, agricultural economics and extension, agricultural and environmental biotechnology, and ecosystems. Here’s what to prepare before you submit.
MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
What submitting implies.
Submission of a paper will be considered to imply that:
- The material has not been published, is not being published or considered for publication elsewhere, and won’t be submitted elsewhere unless rejected by the journal editor or withdrawn by the author(s).
- To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the material does not infringe upon other published material covered by copyright. Authors should document their data sources, models, and estimation procedures as thoroughly as possible, and make the data used available to others for replication purposes.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
Formatting.
All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text within the abstract.
AFFILIATION
Title page.
On the title page, include full names of authors, academic and/or other professional affiliations, and the complete mailing address of the author to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent. Do not submit position titles.
ILLUSTRATIONS
Figures & artwork.
Illustrations (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest-quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- Sized to fit on the journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
- Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files
Colour illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. A custom quote will be provided for colour art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality colour prints or files should be provided in their final size — the publisher reserves the right to refuse publication of colour prints deemed unacceptable.
TABLES & FIGURES
Presentation.
Tables and figures should be embedded in the electronic text. A short descriptive title should appear above each table, with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction.
REFERENCES
Citation style.
Include only references to books, articles, and bulletins actually cited in the text, and cite them in-text by author and date — e.g. (Li, 1983), (Ubi et al., 2000). Prepare the reference list as follows:

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources, and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.
PROOFS
Turnaround.
All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. If the manuscript is not returned within the allotted time, the editor will proofread the article and it will be printed per their instruction. Only correction of typographical errors is permitted at the proof stage.
OFFPRINTS
Your copies.
The corresponding author of an article will receive one complete copy of the issue in which the article appears. Additional reprints of an individual article may be ordered for a fee of $10 each.
PUBLICATION FEES
$350 for the first 8 pages.
A publication fee of $350 (up to eight printed pages) is billed to authors for each manuscript accepted for publication. Beyond 8 pages, an additional $10 per page applies. These fees cover publishing, peer review, copyediting, design, and correspondence. Only authors who have paid receive proofs for the final prepublication check.
